What do you think of when you hear the words, 'food bank'?

There was a time when I thought a food bank meant destitute people coming to a building, standing in line for as long as it might take, keeping their heads down as they gathered their food and walking quietly back to their cars, bikes, or homes. IMAG0361

Is it possible for it to be something more? God moved in some of us to dream of a food bank that could become a place filled with laughter, conversation, the aroma of fresh

What if the kids could walk away with a new toy and a great feeling?coffee, homemade cinnamon rolls, juice and chocolate milk and toys for the kids.

  • What if instead of people waiting in line they could sit at tables with worship music in the background? -What if the volunteers mixed with our new guests and friends having meaningful conversations or even prayer?
  • What if people felt comfortable to share what's going on in their lives and ask questions about the church that provides these things?
  • And, what if people began to develop a curiosity about God, His people and His church... enough to come back on a Sunday morning?

Well, that vision is well on its way toward reality. God has done amazing things in our hearts and the hearts of those who find it necessary to receive our help. Each Saturday morning our church lobby is transformed into a place of ministry and warmth and all I can say is, "It's all God!"

My encouragement to anyone reading this, who has ever had dreams and desires for the work of the Lord, is to TAKE ACTION. Go for it! BELIEVE that when God is behind these dreams and visions - they not only will come to pass, but will be bigger and better than anything you could ever imagine!

What dreams has God given you? What needs to happen in terms of first steps for these dreams to become a reality?
