Missions is more than sending a few trips across the world in the name of charity. It’s a manifesto to advance God’s Kingdom wherever we go, whenever we go in the lives of those who go. That means the orphan across the ocean as well as the homeless man on our very own street corner. At First Baptist, we want to boldly live to give our lives away. Through our time, skill set and resources, we believe living generously is the avenue through which God can change the world.

Our hope is that every person who attends First Baptist will know that missions lies at the center of God’s calling to his people and that each person is made for mission.

Rob & Karen Imagine a city the size of Des Moines, Iowa, with no church. We are partnering with a Pioneers team to start a church-planting movement among an unreached people group with a population of 200,000 and no known believers. Through medical care and clean water, this team is building relationships and using chronological Bible studies to introduce spiritually hungry Chadians to the good news. We currently support 3 individual missionaries through Pioneers to reach unreached people in Chad. Pioneers.org
