Youth Ministry at First Baptist Church exists to meet ordinary students with the extraordinary life and message of Jesus Christ by modeling and growing in daily worship, gospel-centered community and passion for our friends, neighbors, campus, city and the world.

Sundays

Jr. HIgh (5th-8th Grade)

10:00 am at the HUB Youth Center

Our goal is to achieve excellence in our vision by guiding students into a personal relationship with God and understanding what it means and looks like to follow Jesus daily through worship, biblical and relevant talks, discussion times and sometimes games/mixers.

Sr. High (9th - 12th Grade)

9:45 am starting in the courtyard area

“Life Groups” is an organic small group opportunity to do life together, dive deeper into God’s story and serve the church and city. The group that meets on Sunday mornings is student-led (in terms of hospitality, announcements, worship and discussion) with adult leader support and coaching. They are encouraged to eat, play and pray together, discover life together through conversations and serving regularly together. We believe that serving alongside adults in the city of Boise and in the congregation and will encourage a deepened relationship with God and with other people long-term.

How is this different than Tuesday night youth group?

The main difference between Sunday morning “life groups” and Tuesday night youth group is the former is student-led with an emphasis on discussing life and faith while being active through serving and accountability on a regular basis. Tuesday night offers a more traditional youth group experience that reinforces life together and growing in what it means to love and follow Jesus.

Youth Camps

Each year we partners with nine churches and youth ministries in the Treasure Valley to provide both a Summer and Winter camp in an effort to allow the students an opportunity to find retreat and experience God.

Launch Pad

The Launch Pad is a place where students can connect with God and their friends, during school hours, in a way that encourages them to launch into their world fully equipped to live out their faith. We offer Christian Release Time Bible Classes (taught by local youth pastors/workers) that high school students can sign up for as an elective class.
